September 29 Isabella's 3rd Birthday!

I told her to strike a cool pose
Our amazing, smart, sweet, beautiful daughter Isabella Song turned three a month ago.  We
celebrated her birthday in Kansas, and she enjoyed blowing out the candles on her cake, playing with balloons, and the gifts she received!  She is a vivacious, blonde, blue eyed little person with a sensitive personality and the most awesomely crazy hair you can imagine.  It's hard to believe it's been three years already since we brought home our tiny firstborn from the hospital.  She is a fighter.  She is strong.  She has her own opinions about everything, and we are having to teach her to listen to others.  At the same time she has a very tender heart, and is immediately concerned when anyone is hurt or ill and wants to help.  She is very interested in human anatomy, and one of her favorite books is a book with graphic and detailed drawings of every part of the body, from the nervous system and brain to the muscle patterns and bones.  She is learning to overcome her various fears, and is a brave little lady.

My dear little daughter, I pray for you and think of you all day long.  It is such a privilege to be your mommy!  Your father's and my greatest wish is that you would love God, love people, and never lose the joy in your heart all the days of your life.  We love your adventurous spirit and your eager, problem solving mind.  I never want to crush your dreams, and pray that you will be strong and independent and unafraid of what others think, and that you will make wise choices in your life.  We will make mistakes, you will make mistakes, but the important thing is that you know we always love you no matter what and will be there for you.  I am so glad you are ours and that we are your parents!

Yesterday I was trying to string some white Christmas lights in a dollhouse we just got for Bella.  It wasn't working, and I was frustrated and gave up.  A few minutes later I heard, "Mommy look, it works!"  I turned around and Bella had dragged the lights to a different outlet and plugged them in correctly, and sure enough it lit up.  I was so impressed by her problem solving skills!  And apparently we have an old outlet that doesn't work, lol.
The birthday girl!
